Get ready to rock, Fort Mill!

This year’s S.C. Strawberry Festival has just announced its “Rockin’ Tributes” line-up to celebrate the event’s 10th year. The Saturday night concert with feature back-to-back bands honoring Bon Jovi, Journey, REO Speedwagon and Survivor!

It all happens on Saturday, May 4, at Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill. The concert is just one part of a weekend of fun as the town hosts live music acts, arts and crafts vendors, local cuisine, children’s games, hilarious eating contests and even a pig race at Walter Elisha Park.

The concert headliner on Saturday night will be the World’s #1 Bon Jovi Tribute Band, Livin’ on a Prayer. They feature a production of the group’s greatest hits that “recreates the image, sound, and stage persona of one of the biggest bands in history.” Unlike other tribute bands, no background tracks are used.

The Journey Tribute band featuring Ernie Shepherd also returns for a repeat performance after many festival-goers begged the festival to bring them back, said Caroline Hasty, the events and media coordinator for the Town of Fort Mill. “They’ve been the most requested comeback” in festival history, she said.

REO Survivor will also hit the stage with their hybrid tribute to the bands REO Speedwagon and Survivor. The group made their debut appearance last fall at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.

On Friday night, the festival will feature beach music, R&B, dance club music and more, Hasty said.
