The Fort Mill Community Playhouse will host a cabaret showcase from 2-6 p.m. Saturday (Seprt. 16) highlighting talent from all over the area.

The event, directed by Scott Albert, is free with any donations going to help the Playhouse find a new home. It features talented singers performing songs from Disney, Broadway, and some cabaret-style songs. The Playhouse is located at 220 Main Street in Fort Mill.

Singers come from Gaston, Lancaster, Union, Mecklenburg and York counties.

“With Main Street closed due to Octoberfest, we make it easy for everyone who wants a break from being outside,” Albert said. “Each show is 20-30 minutes long. People of all ages are welcome to experience as many shows as they wish. We just incorporate the breaks, so that it makes it easier on the patrons. The cool part though is that every 30 minutes is a new show.”

The Playhouse is enjoying its 43rd season of servicing this community with live theater. Albert said many people don’t know they exist.

“The growth of Fort Mill and keeping us tucked away on Main Street can make these things a challenge,” he said.

While Saturday’s event is free, a donation can be paid by cash or using a QR code.
