Need to get tested for COVID-19?

Free drive-up testing is happening between 8-11 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 18) at the Fort Mill YMCA at the Complex, located at 971 Tom Hall Street in Fort Mill.

The York County Legislative Delegation is partnering with the Medical University of South Carolina to host the testing site for York County residents. The Nation Guard will be on hand to help, and participants are not allowed inside the YMCA.

Organizers say increased testing is important to control the spread of the disease. Anyone who is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms or has had contact with someone showing those symptoms is invited to get this free test from the comfort of your vehicle.

The tests cost nothing for York County residents and no pre-registration or appointment is required. Please bring a driver’s license or photo ID, if possible. Patients must be at least 2 year of age, and a parent or legal guardian must accompany patients under 18 years old. Please wear a mask.

There are six other testing locations throughout York County that offer testing on a permanent basis.  For more info, visit https://www.scdhec.gov/infectious-diseases/viruses/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/covid-19-screening-testing-sites
