Darren Wilson was announced Friday as principal at Catawba Ridge High School.

On Friday, the Fort Mill School District announced the selection of Darren Wilson as Principal of Catawba Ridge High School.

Darren Wilson is replacing Dee Christopher who will be joining Anderson School District 4 as Superintendent.

Mr. Wilson currently serves as assistant principal at Catawba Ridge High School. He holds multiple Bachelor of Science degrees from Gardner-Webb University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Winthrop University and a Masters in Education in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Wilson has 26 years of educational experience, all in the Fort Mill School District. He began his career in education as a teacher aide at Fort Mill Middle School later serving as a teacher and Assistant Principal at Fort Mill High School before moving into his current role as Assistant Principal at Catawba Ridge High School. Mr. Wilson has also served as a coach for football, baseball and wrestling during his career.

Mr. Wilson will work closely with Mr. Christopher during his remaining time in the district to create a smooth and seamless process for this transition.

“We are truly excited to have Darren Wilson take over the Principal duties at Catawba Ridge High School,” said Superintendent Dr. Chuck Epps. ”Replacing a long serving principal is a tough task. I believe Darren’s more than 25 years of experience in our district and his familiarity with the Catawba Ridge culture, students and staff will allow the school to continue its successful path for years to come.”
