The Anne Springs Close Greenway will close Friday. The announcement came Thursday afternoon.

Here’s their message from Facebook:

“In accordance with the state mandate for all non-essential businesses to close, we have decided to close the Anne Springs Close Greenway, effective end of day on Friday, April 3, 2020, until the threat of COVID-19 has passed. This was a very difficult decision, but one that is prudent and necessary. We know that the Greenway has been a respite for you during this stressful time, as so many of you have reached out to show your support. Ultimately, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of our employees and visitors. That’s why we must close the Greenway now and do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

“The Greenway has been an integral part of this community for 25 years, and closing it to our members and visitors is an unprecedented and painful action. However, we know this is the right thing to do to ensure the safety of our staff, members and visitors. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to reopening as soon as the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed.
