The Fort Mill High School band took home first place in Class AAA competition Saturday at the Bands of America Regional in Powder Springs, Georgia.

Fort Mill was one of 22 high school marching bands from six states to travel to the regional competition at McEachern High School. Bands were divided into four classes based on school enrollment.

In addition to placing first in their class, Fort Mill won the awards for Best Music Performance, Best Visual Performance, and Best General Effect in Class AAA. While the band earned one of 10 spots in the evening finals competition, rain forced the host to cancel it.

The band is excited to host its annual Community Appreciation Performance at 7:30 p.m Saturday (Nov. 2) at Bob Jones Stadium at the high school.
