The Fort Mill Police Department will participate in National Night Out on Tuesday, October 1.

The Fort Mill Police Department will host the local event from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Veterans Park, 106 North White Street. The free family event includes a Kids Activity Zone, Awareness Booths, DJ Dave Crash, Health & Awareness, Emergency Response Vehicles and food and drinks.

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that aims to promote police and community partnerships, as well as neighborhood camaraderie. The national event involves over 15,000 communities from all 50 states.

“This event was initially intended to transition from one neighborhood to another,” said MPO Johnathan Gilbert of the Fort Mill Police Department. “However, we have chosen to consolidate the evenings events into one location so that more of our citizens have an opportunity to enjoy a night of fun, food, games, and music.”
