Fort Mill police are investigating shootings that injured two 16-year-old boys on Forest Ridge Drive.

The boys were also allegedly involved in the shooting and were injured themselves before being taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, said Major Bryan Zachary of the Fort Mill Police Department.

The incidents began at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday when police dispatchers got several calls from residents in the area of 900 to 1100 Forest Ridge Drive. They reported gunshots.

“Officers responded immediately to the Forest Ridge Apartments, 2300 Forest Ridge Drive and Highway 21 North, and located witnesses that reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing an unknown number of persons fleeing the area, on foot and in vehicles,” Major Zachary said in a press release.  “While at that incident location, officers received information that two subjects, that were allegedly involved in the shooting, had stopped at two different locations in close proximity and requested medical assistance for apparent gunshot wounds.”
