Jeffrey Wright (YCSO mugshot)

On Thursday afternoon, a sheriff’s deputy found a man sleeping in his Jeep outside the Food Lion at 1046 Regent Parkway in Fort Mill.

Jeffrey Scott Wright, 50, of Rock Hill, told the officer that he had broken down and was waiting for a friend to come back and help him get the vehicle running, according to a York County sheriff’s report.

The deputy asked Wright for consent to search his Jeep, and the man said yes. The officer then found a small bag of meth in the center console of the vehicle, leading to Wright’s arrest for meth possession – 3rd or more offense.

The suspect has more than two prior drug convictions on his record, the sheriff’s report says.
